AON, a leading global professional services firm, introduced Access Choice, a new marketplace designed to connect employees with trusted healthcare solutions beyond traditional benefits programs as the direct-to-consumer ecosystem rapidly expands.
As employers continue to face significant healthcare cost pressures and growing demand for services, such as weight management and therapies for various clinical conditions, employees are increasingly seeking healthcare solutions outside traditional benefits channels, turning to direct-to-consumer providers for a myriad of services.
Aon’s Access Choice is designed to help employees navigate competing priorities, providing streamlined access to a suite of direct-to-consumer healthcare options through a simpler, more trusted experience that complements existing health and benefits programs.
“Consumers increasingly have access to healthcare services outside traditional channels, from virtual care and specialty treatments to diagnostic testing and personalized health programs,” said Kevin Fyock, Health Solutions Innovation and Strategy Leader, Aon. “While these solutions can expand access and convenience, employees may struggle to identify which options are credible, clinically sound and aligned with their needs. Access Choice was designed to help employees and employers navigate this shift.”
The introduction of Access Choice reflects a broader shift occurring throughout the healthcare ecosystem, with consumers expecting greater transparency, personalization and digital access while increasingly seeking more choice in how and where they receive care. Initially, Access Choice is expected to focus on healthcare solutions across several high-demand categories, including weight management and GLP-1 therapies, personalized diagnostics and prevention, and women's health.
Clinical quality will be a key consideration in determining the healthcare options made available through Access Choice. Aon’s expertise will help inform solutions available through the marketplace, helping employees navigate direct-to-consumer options with greater confidence.
For employers, the expansion of these options creates a parallel challenge: how to consider the growing demand for access and choice while addressing broader Human Capital strategies and rising healthcare costs.
“Many employers are looking for ways to make new options for care and support available without fundamentally redesigning or expanding existing benefits programs,” said Mike Pasterick, North America Health Solutions Leader, Aon. “Access Choice creates another avenue to meet emerging workforce needs while navigating continued pressure on healthcare costs.”
Aon plans to continue developing Access Choice and expanding the solution in advance of its expected launch and broader market activation in early 2027.
