Thierry Portevin, current global head of property at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), will be appointed global head of Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC), reporting directly to Tony Buckle, chief underwriting officer Corporate.
The appointment is effective on March 8.
Portevin succeeds the previous global head of ARC, Tina Baacke, who left AGCS at the end of 2020. On an interim basis, Elizaveta Krieg will lead the global property underwriting team, until a permanent successor is confirmed. Currently she is the global practice group leader for Base Industries in this team, based in Munich, Germany.
Prior to becoming global head of Property in 2016, Portevin was global head of Engineering for AGCS from May 2012 to August 2016. Starting his career as an engineering and construction project manager for organizations, including the National Institute for Ocean Science (France) and Jacobs, he joined Allianz France in 2000 as engineering underwriting portfolio manager, before joining AGCS as engineering underwriting manager for France in 2007.
Portevin has a graduate degree in engineering from the École Centrale de Marseille, with a specialism in marine and offshore engineering. He also holds a business management certificate from ESSEC Business School Paris.
